Eyelash Extensions AfterCare
Enjoy your beautiful new semi-permanent eyelash extensions. Proper care and maintenance of your extended lashes will ensure beautiful and long-lasting results.
Basic makeup application and normal lifestyle routine can resume after your eyelash extension application. To facilitate a more flexible, longer-lasting bond and to minimize potential irritation or adverse reactions, avoid the following activities within the first 24-48 hours:
-
Exposure to steam or water
-
Exposure to heat
-
Swimming or sauna
-
Spray or airbrush tanning
-
Wearing contact lenses
-
Exercise/Sweat
-
Use of micellar water, aloe, silicones, or oil containing cosmetics and skincare products that come in contact with the eyelash extensions.
Note:
To maximize your eyelash extension longevity, only use specially formulated eyelash extension compatible cosmetics and skincare products.
---------
Remember that our own natural lashes have a growth cycle of approximately 60-days and each of our lashes are on it's own cycle. So, aside from our natural lashes growing out and shedding with the eyelash extension attached to them, the following activities will weaken adhesive bonds and result in premature eyelash extension loss:
-
Use of oil containing cosmetics and skincare products
-
Use of waterproof cosmetics on or near eyelash extensions, such as waterproof mascara and eyeliner.
-
Use of micellar water (or anything containing aloe, silicones, or oils)
-
Use of mechanical or heated curlers
-
Excessive mascara application
-
Excessive exposure to friction
-
Exercise/Sweat
-
Excessive rubbing of eyes
-
Picking, rubbing or pulling on extended eyelashes
-
Chemical treatments such as eyelash tinting or lifting
To prevent damage to your eyelash extensions, care should be taken when receiving any of the following procedures:
-
Strong chemical peels or skin resurfacing procedures that come in direct contact with the eye area
-
Facial treatments and facial massages that include direct contact with the eye area and eyelash extensions
NOTE:
Always inform your esthetician or medical provider that you are wearing eyelash extensions before any facial procedure begins.
To prevent your lashes from clumping or losing volume, do not apply any mascara, protective coating, or sealer to eyelash extensions applied using Hybrid or Volume techniques.
